REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

Vote for politicians that back green energy plans.

Drive less, and when driving, drive efficiently.

By choosing to walk, ride a bike, or use public transportation, you can drastically reduce your carbon emissions, and in turn, live a healthier lifestyle. When driving, poor gas mileage is usually a product of poor driving habits. Accelerate more slowly, only idle if absolutely necessary, and use cruise control on highways to reduce your carbon emissions, and save money on gas!

Reduce household energy usage.

Install energy efficient appliances and lightbulbs, seal all windows and cracks to improve insulation, and minimize heat/AC usage as much as possible.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

This cannot be stressed enough! Reduce consumption on all levels, reuse everything (opt for buying used items instead of unnecessarily purchasing new items), and recycle all containers, especially ones for buying food items.

Buy LOCAL Goods

If there is one golden rule in a market of green, sustainable, consumption, it is to buy local. Shipping burns fuel, and lots of it! Buying local removes the transportation carbon emissions that global franchises produce. Land use changes for agriculture are responsible a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions!

Opt for trains and other public transportation over flying short distances.
